The role of a medical director in litigation is to assist counsel in securing the best possible expert testimony and analysis of medical issues related to a case. They may also review medical records and other relevant documentation in tandem and oversight of retained experts.  In addition, they may also be involved in the settlement or mediation process, and work with attorneys to develop strategy and arguments for the case. Overall, the medical director plays a critical role in helping to ensure that the client and the court has pertinent, accurate, and reliable information about the medical aspects of a case.
